Mgr.art. Matúš Zajac

Born 26.3.1971 in Bratislava. 1996-1997 FAMU Prague. In 2003 finished studies at VŠVU in Bratislava.

Since 1995 a member of SSN and works as a free-lance photograph and cooperates with various publishing houses, magazines and advertisement agencies like TASR, AB40, Im Berlín, Linead Ombrai, Tchin Bumm, PolyGram, BMG, Dumont, Kalligram, Mark/BBDO etc.

From 2003 a photographer of the National Council of Slovak Republic as a personal photographer of the chairman of the parliament. Also works as a photographer of .týždeň magazine. A founding member of photographical group Rovnými nohami (With straight legs). His work deal with social themes and portrait.

File Berlin documents life of immigrants as in a global centre using connection between document and fine arts.

In Podoby viery (Forms of faith), he captures emotions with a psychological tinge and meaning of faith in various cultures.

He's a leader of a photographical workshop in Ružomberok and periodically exhibits his works. Since 2009 he lectures report photography on department of journalism in Ružomberok. He lives and works in Bratislava.
